The stunning new ‘destination’ calendar by Milan photographer Gianni Pezzani rewrites the rules.

This luminosissimo apartment on i Navigli - the zone of antique canals alongside Porta Genova, a heartbeat from the studios and galleries of Zona Tortona - renders me a particular shade of green I have to admit. Unlike many visitors, and Italians for that matter, I love Milan as much for its own brand of hectic, heady energy as anything else.  But I can certainly see that, living there, you might soon come to crave the restorative effect of white walls, of daylight and high ceilings come the end of the week…

Not cutting edge. Nor does it try to be.  Instead the apartment, designed by Luca Papiani for creative commuications director Monica Unger, seems more interested in chanelling the grace and good manners of another time than keeping pace with the world just outside the door.
