Not sure who was responsible for the inspired bedding, but the architect of this former convent and hotel in Northern Portugal, Eduardo Souto de Moura, was awarded the Pritzker Prize today.

I like this open plan meeting space, tucked at the end of a mezzanine in a Madrid garage conversion. The textures and colours (love the coir entry mat-style carpet and tatty tan leather combination) give plenty of detail for the eye to focus on while sitting and chatting without adding clutter. The floor lamp acts like a beacon.

I’m finding lately that I’m looking for a lot more colour and texture in interiors. This room is still minimal but so warm and comfortable.  I love it.

Sunday afternoon, Magione (PG) Italy… che dire?  Grazie di cuore to Tania and Salvo for making us all look and feel like very privileged protagonists in a modern day Renoir.

Well, who knew?

The light at the end of the tunnel.

Just a really smart looking front door really…

Turning a liability into an asset.

What a gorgeous, grown-up looking place to go for a drink.

This shot from Scott Schuman takes me straight back to Italy, (where I’ve been hiding out for the last two months and) where they really know how to wear a scarf.
